Year 1

Term 2, 2017

In Term Two, the Year Ones explored different countries and their culture. We learnt about different celebrations, traditions and foods. The students got to experience these cultures through play, craft and cooking.

In Literacy we have explored persuasive and procedural texts and recounts. In Numeracy we have developed our understanding of addition and subtraction, counting, data, chance, length and money. During our Money unit, we invited the Commonwealth Bank to discuss the value of saving money.

During Education Week, families were invited into our classrooms to participate in activities with their child.

Each week, the Year One students have worked with students in Years Four and Six to develop their interpersonal skills during Peer Support. Year Six students ran all of the activities to encourage building positive relationships.
